We've received lots of linkspam in this forum. As a result, any message that could possibly be seen as promoting a link for search engines may be deleted or edited to remove the link.

For any one legitimate message you see here, multiple spam messages have been manually deleted. If the mention of a link seems essential and to have no possible promotional value, it may stay. If it refers to a commercial entity and is not absolutely essential to the discussion, it will go.

Further, link spammers seize on any example of a link that survives and try to repeat the pattern. So demonstrating quick moderation to prevent copycats can happen more quickly than question answering.

It's no reflection on you or your motivations. And, it's not a great or easy-to-apply system. As you may have noticed, the topmost post in this forum recommends discussion move to another blog (where, among other benefits, subtle moderation is easier).
